Earthquake & Yen Analysis

I have come to realize that there is a pattern in earthquake relation to yen. Lets take a look at both the Earth quake scenario

For Kobe Earthquake Refer Chart :
The Yen actually strengthened 18 percent before the dollar hit the famous “Rubin bottom” in April 1995. The dollar was already in downtrend and further weakened by the U.S. bailout of the Mexico when the Kobe quake hit, so it is difficult to fully extract its true impact on the exchange rate. For about 4 months, the UJ has Went down for about 15 points, which is also equivalent to 1500 Pips in forex.

So, for now the current earth quake. We will see. It is said that the rally is hard to be repeated as Jap Gov officials do not want the Yen to continue strengthen in the long term.

Munich Re and Swiss Reinsurance Co., the world’s two biggest reinsurers, lost 4.3 percent and 3.5 percent, respectively. Aflac Inc., the insurer that got 76 percent of 2010 revenue from Japan, shed 0.3 percent.

Stay tune for update .
